We are always accepting new or gently used household item donations. These items will be gifted to tenants moving into Anawim Housing that have very little or are coming from homelessness.
Items can be dropped off to the main Anawim office at: 1750 48th Street. Set 100B. Des Moines, IA 50310. Please contact our main office with any questions about donations. Anawim office phone number: 515-244-8308.

Anawim Housing is passionate about affordable housing and working together to end homelessness. We have skilled staff who are able to come to your place of worship, neighborhood association, or community group to offer presentations, sermons, and educational opportunities.
TEACHING | Educational opportunities to help your group understand homelessness and the solutions needed to keep individuals and families in our community stably housed. Our time with you can include videos, PowerPoint presentations, activities, and discussion suited to your contexts.
PREACHING | Sermons and homilies that connect issues of affordable housing and homelessness to your faith tradition.
PRESENTATIONS | Learn more about an area of our expertise with a presentation or workshop offered by a trained Anawim Housing staff member. Our expertise includes Housing First, harm reduction, property development, and more. Our staff holds the following certifications: Offender Workforce Development Specialist, International Alcohol and Drug Counselor, SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recover (SOAR), and Certified Prevention Specialist.

Catalyst is Anawim's Community Engagement Council, which through education and advocacy, aim to shape the conversation of homelessness in Iowa. We achive this by addressing and challenging common stereotypes and myths about homelessness, and work together to create opportunities for community awareness and engagement.
Catalyst is made up of young professionals from across Des Moines who share in our mission by bringing innovative solutions and intention to help elevate our message to new audiences.
